Respiratory system - Constructing a Lung Model using recyclable materials

Dear all

I am impressed by the effort shown by so many of you today. Most of the models were made using recyclable materials. We have classified these models into three different categories – basic, average and above average.

We have also discussed the reasons why certain models appear to be more outstanding based on their design. The choice of materials plays a crucial part in your design as well.  Through model making, we can learn the key concepts of the respiratory system as it helps us in visualising the lungs in action. The amount of details shown in your model reflects the level of understanding you have for this topic at this moment. For example, the use of two straws to represent windpipe is inaccurate as we only have one windpipe.

We will continue our discussions on this for the next few sessions in class. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to our winners for their lung models!
